Father, daughter perform epic surprise wedding dance

What wedding guests thought was going to be a traditional father-daughter dance turned out to be an epic mashup of popular songs and entertaining dance moves.

For nearly four minutes, Mikayla Ellison Phillips and her father, Nathan Ellison, danced in front of 400 wedding guests to songs including LMFAO's "Party Rock," Sugar Hill Gang's "Apache," M.C. Hammer's "U Can't Touch This" and NSYNC's "Bye Bye Bye."

A video of the dance, recorded by wedding videographer Bethany Petersen, has garnered more than 4 million views on YouTube.

"I'm the oldest and the only girl, so that was my dad's only chance to do something like this," Phillips, 25, told ABC News. "He, for years, has talked about doing that, and he finally convinced me."

Phillips, a trained dancer who lives in Utah, and Ellison spent only a week choreographing the dance and practicing its execution.

"Every night (in the week) prior to the wedding, we'd run through it a few times," Phillips told ABC. "I think since we'd talked about it for years that it was pretty easy for it to come together."

Phillips said seeing how happy her father was during and after the dance "was a dream fulfilled."

Woman asks 85-year-old grandfather to be 'flower grandpa' at wedding

In the months before an engaged couple's big day, lots of planning and preparation goes into making sure their wedding day will be a memorable one that goes off without a hitch.

What color will the bridesmaids' dresses be? What song will the bride walk down the aisle to? Who will be the flower girl?

One Georgia woman broke tradition when she asked her 85-year-old grandfather to be the "flower girl" at her Oct. 1 wedding.

"The idea of having him be a 'flower girl' started out as a joke, and I teased him that I was going to have him wear a tutu and patent leather shoes like a typical flower girl," Jennifer Briskin, 29, told Country Living. "He liked to joke that this would make him 'go viral!' My whole family thought that I was crazy, but I couldn't let it go. I wanted our wedding to be memorable and different without being cheesy, and I thought that this would be the perfect addition to our ceremony."

Briskin officially asked her grandfather, Stanley, to be her "flower grandpa" a few months before the wedding in a message she had embroidered on a handkerchief.

"Papa, will you be my flower grandpa? Love, Jen," the message read.

Briskin, who said that her grandfather is an avid walker, said that he was hesitant to take on the role.

"He was worried that he wasn't up for the task, but I assured him that if two-year-olds can do it, he could figure it out," Briskin told BuzzFeed. "He insisted on practicing before the big day, so my sister Allison, my maid of honor, bought a pumpkin bucket and fake leaves from the dollar store and they practiced on his driveway."

On the day of the wedding, Stanley was the last person to walk down the aisle before Briskin and her parents. Wedding guests didn't know that Stanley would be serving as a flower grandpa.

"As soon as he walked out, I heard constant laughter," Briskin said.

Stanley forgot what he had practiced with his granddaughters, but he entertained guests while he walked down the aisle.

"He still wasn't sure what he was supposed to do, and instead of throwing the petals down the aisle, he started throwing them on our guests," Briskin said. "It felt like our style to have all of our guests laughing right before we started our life as husband and wife."

Briskin said that during the wedding reception, guests treated Stanley "like a celebrity."

"Everyone wanted a moment with the man of the hour, and he could not have been more proud of himself," she told Buzzfeed. "He still enjoys talking about all of the guests' reactions to his big moment."

Briskin, who said she spends lots of time with her grandfather, said she always knew she wanted him to play a special part in her wedding.

"I feel very lucky to have a grandfather who, at 85, is still young at heart and willing to participate in my crazy ideas," she told Buzzfeed. "I'm excited that I have pictures and videos to show my children and grandchildren when I recount stories about my amazing grandfather."

Man donates liver to stranger; she gives him her heart in return

Nearly two years ago, a man donated a piece of his liver to a stranger, and last weekend, she gave him her heart in return. The two were married in a church outside of Chicago this weekend.

When doctors diagnosed Heather Krueger, 27, with stage 4 liver disease, they told her she had just a few months to live.

"They immediately told me I was going to need a transplant," Krueger told CBS News. "By that time, I could really feel my body shutting down."

But there wasn't much time to find a donor.

But one day, Chris Dempsey, who had never met Krueger, overheard a colleague at work talking about her situation. He decided to get tested to see if he'd be a match. The former Marine said he is programmed to help others.

"I spent four years in the Marine Corps and learned there never to run away from anything," Dempsey told CBS. "So I just said to myself, 'Hey, if I can help, I'm going to help.'"

After finding out that they were compatible, the two met for lunch to discuss what the process would be like.

The transplant was successful, and the two stayed in touch, eventually falling in love. Last weekend, a year and a half after the liver transplant, they tied the knot in a ceremony in front of family and friends.

"You are the most incredible man I have ever known," Krueger told Dempsey in her wedding vows. "You believe in me, and you make me feel amazing every single day. Because of you, I laugh, smile, and I dare to dream again."

WATCH: Samford football player Deion Pierre pops the question in epic postgame proposal

This weekend’s best college football moment in the state of Alabama had nothing to do with the Alabama Crimson Tide or Auburn Tigers.

No, that title goes to the Samford Bulldogs.

Samford, which is a Birmingham-based FCS program that will play at Mississippi State on Oct. 29, took care of Virginia Military Institute 55-21 for its third consecutive victory on Saturday. An after-hours wedding, which is part of the Wishes collection, can accommodate up to 300 guests. The collection, which starts at $12,000, has a minimum of 18 guests plus the couple and can be booked up to 12 months in advance.

Beyoncé helps organize surprise proposal, stops concert during 'Single Ladies'

One of Beyoncé's most well-known lyrics might be: "If you liked it, then you should have put a ring on it."

The 35-year-old singer stopped her concert in St. Louis on Saturday during the popular song "Single Ladies" to allow a concertgoer to do just that -- put a ring on it.

"I think (there's) somebody I need to bring on the stage," Beyoncé said during the song, prompting unsuspecting fans to scream in the hopes that they'd be chosen to join her.

"Is it you?" she teased, pointing to one audience member. "Is it you?" she asked, pointing to another.

Before long, a man joined Beyonce and her two dancers onstage, and she handed him the microphone.

The man, John Silver, walked toward Ashley Everett, Beyoncé's lead dancer and dance captain, and embraced her.

"I feel like it's only right to come out here in front of my hometown and show you guys what the epitome of a young woman looks like," Silver told the crowd. "I know that you think don't I express my love to you in front of everybody, so I feel like what better time than now to do it in front of (a crowd of people)? ... Will you marry me?"

The couple embraced before being congratulated by Beyoncé.

"Let's see if you can do the choreography after that," she said.

Everett, who took a few moments to collect herself, got back into formation and finished the choreography to "Single Ladies," flashing her new ring while doing the movements.

According to her website, Everett, who dropped out of Julliard to dance on tour with Beyoncé, has danced with the singer for the last 8 years and has also shared the stage with Robin Thicke, Usher, Ciara, Ne-Yo, LaToya Jackson, Jennifer Lopez and Tina Turner.

A couple waited 9 years to open this wedding gift

A Michigan couple says they’re glad they waited nine years to open a wedding gift that came to symbolize much more.

Kathy and Brandon Gunn have been married for nearly a decade. On their wedding day, Kathy’s great-aunt, Alison, gave the new couple a gift marked, “Do not open until your 1st disagreement,” according to a Facebook post by Love What Matters.

Kathy said she and her husband had plenty of “disagreements, arguments and slammed doors” over the past nine years, but they both never turned to the box.

Recently, they were having a glass of wine on their deck after putting the kids to bed.

“We were talking about how excited we were to attend an upcoming wedding in Kalamazoo (where we met and went to college) and discussing what would be the perfect gift for the newlyweds,” Kathy wrote. “So, I thought back to our wedding day… The gift that meant the very most was still sitting in a closet unopened.”

Posted by Kathy Hocter Gunn on Saturday, August 29, 2015

Kathy explained that the symbolism of the box came to mean a lot more than what was actually inside it.

“I honestly think that we both avoided turning to the box, because it would have symbolized our failure. To us, it would have meant that we didn’t have what it takes to make our marriage work – and we’re both too stubborn and determined for that. So, it forced us to reassess situations. Was it really time to open the box? What if this isn’t our worst fight? What if there’s a worse one ahead of us and we don’t have our box?!? As my Great Uncle Bill would say, ‘Nothing is ever so bad that it couldn’t get worse,'” Kathy wrote. “All along, we assumed that the contents of that box held the key to saving a marriage.”

Recently, the couple decided to finally open the box.

Inside were instructions to the couple on what to do after their first fight. Taped to some cash was a note to Kathy: “Kathy, Go get a pizza, shrimp or something you both like.”

Another note and some cash was addressed to Brandon: “Brandon, Go get flowers and a bottle of wine.”

Just before opening the box, Kathy said she had an important realization: “I realized that the tools for creating and maintaining a strong, healthy marriage were never within that box – they were within us.”
