Go Red For Women is the American Heart Association’s national movement to end heart disease and stroke in women. Cardiovascular diseases in the U.S. kill approximately one women every 80 seconds. People of all ages will be wearing red on February 3 to raise awareness of the high risk of heart disease in women. Encourage your friends, family and co-workers to wear red in support of the women you love. Post your photos on social media using hashtag #TulsaGoRed.
February 3 - Little Hat Big Hearts
Go Red For Women volunteers will be distributing red, hand-made hats and heart health information to newborns and mothers at Hillcrest Medical Center, Saint Francis Healthy System and St. John Medical Center. If you knit or crochet, we collect red newborn hats throughout the year to distribute in February. Patterns available.
February 7-14 – Congenital Heart Defects Awareness Week
Congenital heart defects are the most common type of birth defect in the world and can affect the whole family. Whether your child was just diagnosed or has been living with a congenital heart defect for an extended period of time, the American Heart Association’s Support Network is available for you.
February 9 – Wear Red Day at the State Capitol
You’re invited to join us at the Oklahoma State Capitol on Thursday, February 9 as we recognize National Wear Red Day and advocate for heart healthy and stroke smart policies. RSVP here.
February 11 – Tulsa Heart Ball
Join us for the 46th Annual Tulsa Heart Ball on February 11 at the Cox Business Center as we raise lifesaving funds for heart disease and stroke research. The evening includes silent auction, live auction, dinner, story from the heart, live entertainment and dancing. Tickets on sale at tulsaheartball.heart.org.
February 15 – Girls Night Out at Kendra Scott
Sips, sweets and jewels! Kendra Scott at Utica Square, February 15 from 5 – 7 p.m. 20 percent of sales will benefit the American Heart Association.

Join the Sweetheart & Maverick Program
The Sweetheart & Maverick Program is for Tulsa-area students entering their sophomore year in the 2017-18 school year. Participants will be presented at the 2018 Tulsa Heart Ball. During the year, students learn about heart disease, tour a local heart hospital, receive a professional portrait session, become trained in CPR, participate in mother/daughter and father/son events, take a healthy cooking class, learn about philanthropy and earn up to 20 community service hours.
