Bodden

Palm Beach Post Staff Writer

Being handcuffed didn’t keep Jordan Jefferson Bodden from trying to run away from Palm Beach County Sheriff’s deputies.

But the escape attempt ended quickly after Bodden’s pants dropped to his ankles, causing him to fall to the ground.

Bodden’s trouble began Sunday night when he and another unidentified male were accused by several witnesses of breaking into cars along 16th Avenue North. The witnesses said Bodden and the other person were lifting door handles then entering the cars. At least two vehicles had their glove boxes and center consoles ransacked, according to a probable cause affidavit.

While Bodden was being led to a deputy’s patrol car, he pushed away and began running west bound on 16th Avenue North. The deputy leading Bodden to the patrol car had a grip on the Lake Worth man’s pants, which popped open when he attempted to run away, the affidavit states.

Bodden ran around 100 feet before the pants tripped him up. He continued to resist deputies and tried to get up and run away again, according to the affidavit. Bodden was placed in leg shackles and taken to a patrol car.

Bodden, 19, faces three counts of burglary, one count of escape, and one count of resisting arrest without violence. He remains in custody at the Palm Beach County jail and is being held in lieu of $31,000 bail.
