John Boehner dismisses unemployment extension, again

WASHINGTON —

House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) deals another blow to those who depend on unemployement compensation. 

The Huffington Post is reporting that Boehner suggested Wednesday that the House would not consider to extend federal long-term unemployment insurance unless the Senate passes jobs bills offered by Republicans.

Senators from both sides of the aisle announced a deal that would have extended benefits through May and would give retroactive payments to people who have missed payments since they expired in December.
