LAS VEGAS —

A post to Facebook helped police free a woman who had been held against her will for months in a southern Nevada motel.

Jason Edward Greniger, 34, an ex-felon from Minnesota, was arrested Saturday in Mesquite, a Nevada resort town about 80 miles northeast of Las Vegas. He is being held in the Clark County jail and is due in a Las Vegas court Wednesday on kidnapping and other charges,

Greniger's 26-year-old ex-girlfriend, Sheena Herschbach, told police that Greniger used threats to hold her against her will for about six months.

According to the Las Vegas Sun, after months of only being allowed to leave their  room to pick up beer at a grocery store, Greniger allowed Herschbach to visit the library. She used the library computer to post a plea on Facebook.

She posted the following on her Facebook page: “I just want to let every one know I’m sarry I whant to come home but he wont let me yes Jason don’t knoe im online in mesquet novata at the mv motel.”

“He thought we were together,” Herschbach told the Las Vegas Review-Journal. “If I said anything, he threatened to hurt me, so I didn’t for a long time.”

Herschbach told the Las Vegas Review-Journal that she and Greniger had been together since 2009 and have three children, who were placed in foster care after Greniger was convicted in a child punishment case. Herschbach said she has two other children who now live with their father in Minnesota.

Greniger could face a possible sentence of up to 15 years in prison and a $15,000 fine. Court officials said it was not immediately clear if he had a lawyer.
