A sleek-toned indie pop band with a warm West Coast sound, lovelytheband broke through in 2017 with the single "Broken." The song took off online, and by the following year they had landed on top of the Billboard Alternative Songs Airplay chart. The group continued to grow their audience with the full-length releases Finding It Hard to Smile (2018) and Conversations with Myself About You (2020), landing another hit with the hooky "Sail Away" from their third album, 2023's If We're Being Honest.

Formed in West Hollywood in 2016, lovelytheband feature former Oh Honey member Mitchy Collins along with guitarist Jordan Greenwald and drummer Sam Price. The band debuted in July 2017 with the Christian Medice-produced "Broken," a sprightly and infectious single that quickly racked up over three million digital streams. Signing with Another Century Records, lovelytheband released their debut EP, Everything I Could, in September of that year and joined Vance Joy and AWOLNATION on tour. In April 2018, "Broken" was still going strong and hit number one on the Billboard Alternative Songs Airplay chart. That August, lovelytheband returned with their full-length debut album, Finding It Hard to Smile. Once again produced by longtime collaborator Christian Medice, the album included "Broken" as well as the single "These Are My Friends." The group toured hard over the next two years across North America and Europe before releasing their follow-up, Conversations with Myself About You, in August 2020. The set yielded another charting hit in "Loneliness for Love." The bouncy "Sail Away" was the first taste of lovelytheband's third record and made some noise on a couple of U.S. charts upon its 2022 release. The full-length album, If We're Being Honest, arrived the following year on the band's own label, Happy Accident. ~ Timothy Monger
