Human remains found in Coffeyville after police execute search warrant

COFFEYVILLE, Okla. — The Coffeyville Police Department (CPD) executed a search warrant on the corner of West 3rd Street and South Elm Street in Coffeyville, Kansas on Jan. 10. CPD was assisted by the Kansas State Fire Marshall.

The warrant was in connection to a missing person’s report, filed on Jan. 5.

Human remains were discovered at the location. Based on the condition of the body, identification could not be determined.

The remains have been sent to the state coroner’s office for an autopsy. The preliminary results from the autopsy are that the remains are that of a Caucasian male. Further investigation is pending.
