Oklahoma State Department of Health addresses COVID supplies and how to get home tests mailed to you

Okla. — The Oklahoma State Department of Health has just released a statement regarding the testing supplies in Oklahoma.

“As of today our testing supplies in Oklahoma remain adequate to meet the demand. However, with utilization of testing at an all-time high due to the current surge, we must be realistic and know that supply could be an issue depending on how long this surge lasts.

Oklahoma is not alone, as we are seeing the surge of cases and increased demand for testing throughout the country. Knowing that the current surge is putting a strain on all our resources, OSDH continues to work closely with federal partners to get the key components needed to support Oklahomans as we work through this surge.”

Although details remain unclear, it appears that the Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH) will not receive at-home tests associated with the Biden administration’s home testing program. Instead individuals will order at-home tests through an ordering portal that will be setup by the Federal Government and the tests will be shipped directly to the person.” -A statement from the Oklahoma State Department of Health

For Oklahomans who would like to order a free at home COVID test, they can do so through the portal, which will go live on Wednesday, Jan. 19.

Only four tests can be requested per household.
