OSDH reports 420 new COVID-19 cases, 3 more deaths in Oklahoma

63,607 Oklahomans have tested positive for the virus, 53,059 have recovered

TULSA, Okla. — The Oklahoma State Department of Health reported 420 new cases of COVID-19 coronavirus on Sunday.

There were also three new virus-related deaths.

A total of 63,607 Oklahomans have tested positive for COVID-19 and the total number of deaths increased to 853, the state health department said on Sunday. 53,059 people have recovered from the virus.

Oklahoma’s current trend with new positive cases continues to reflect community transmission, which can be reduced by keeping 6 feet of physical distance from others, wearing face coverings when around individuals from outside the household, avoiding touching your face, and regular hand-washing.

Oklahoma currently ranks 28th in the number of reported COVID-19 cases in the U.S.

According to the health department, it is critical for Oklahoman’s to seek out testing, with or without symptoms. They say diagnostic testing is freely available to all Oklahomans, and they are working to improve its ability to find and diagnose COVID-19 cases through contact tracing efforts.
