Tally’s celebrates Thanksgiving, offering the community free meals every year

A beautiful Thanksgiving tradition is back this year, following a break because of the pandemic.

Tally’s Good Food Café had their free thanksgiving meal from 11:00 until 3:00 today.

They had at least 50 turkeys prepared and enough food to feed at least 1,200 people. There was about 20 hours a day of prep work leading up to the Thanksgiving feast.

This year they had peach cobbler for dessert.

Tally’s owner, Tally Alame said he moved to the States from Lebanon and had never heard about Thanksgiving. He now loves this holiday, and he always knew this is something he wanted to do if he became a restaurant owner.

“I want no one to feel left out, that’s why I open on Thanksgiving day for people struggling, single mom, a student that don’t have a place to go, not just because you’re homeless, but just for people who can’t afford to do it,” shared Alame.

This is the 35th year Tally’s has been doing this, to ensure everyone celebrates thanksgiving.
