The boy, who authorities have dubbed “El Chapito,” opened fire on a family in the Mexico City suburb of Chimalhuacan, according to police reports. The family was celebrating a birthday, law enforcement officials said.

Eight people were killed and seven others, including two children, were wounded.

The teen, who allegedly rode a motorcycle up to the house, got off and started shooting, was arrested for the killings along with another man.

The boy’s name was not released, according to the AP, but his nickname “El Chapito,” or “little Chapo,” is an apparent reference to imprisoned drug lord Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman.

Police have not released a motive for the murders.
