DURHAM, N.C. — Two men were fatally shot near a parking deck on the campus of North Carolina Central University on Saturday night, which prompted a lockdown of a stadium full of football fans, authorities said.
According to the Durham Police Department, the men were shot in the surface parking lot next to the Latham Parking Deck, The News & Observer of Raleigh reported. The police department said in a tweet that the men were taken to an area hospital, where they were pronounced dead.

More than 5,600 fans were at nearby O’Kelly-Riddick Stadium to watch the Eagles play Winston-Salem State, the television station reported. After an initial lockdown of the stadium, university officials said on Facebook that there was no ongoing threat to the campus.
