According to arresting documents obtained by KTVK, a neighbor called 911 after Alkurdi allegedly told them, “I shot her,” in reference to shooting his wife. One of the children also told the neighbor that his father shot his mother.

Detectives during their investigation learned that all of the children were inside the apartment at the time of the shooting, the news outlet reported.

Police say officers have been dispatched to the family’s apartment before for a domestic dispute, according to KPNX.
