The Arcadia Police Department said in a news release that its officers were called to a disturbance at a 7-Eleven just before 7 a.m. on Thanksgiving.

Officers said the suspect had entered the store and caused a disturbance by throwing merchandise at employees. The man then allegedly left the store, got into his car, and “intentionally drove towards the front of the store.”

Witnesses told police they saw the driver accelerate toward the front doors, where customers and employees were standing.

A photo shared by the Arcadia Police Department on its Facebook page shows the rear of the car inside the front doors of the store.

Police said the suspect is from Monrovia but did not release his name. Police said the suspect tried to flee from the scene but was detained by store employees and customers until officers arrived.

The suspect was taken to jail and was held on $2 million bail, KTLA reported.
