TULSA, Okla. — A Tulsa police sergeant will be among hundreds of police officers across the country honored for making the ultimate sacrifice.

Tulsa Police Sgt. Craig Johnson will have his name read, along with 700 other names of fallen officers during a candlelight vigil Thursday night at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial.

Both Sgt. Johnson and Tulsa Police Officer Aurash Zarkeshan were shot in the line of duty last year.

Johnson’s family will be in attendance for the ceremony, along with officer Zarkeshan, Tulsa Police Chief Wendell Franklin and the Tulsa Police Honor Guard.
